The house is situated in the small fishermen's village Almadraba de Monteleva also known as Las Salinas surrounded by mountains, vulcanic cliffs and palm trees. The lighthouse of Cabo de Gata is very close to the house (4 km) and can be reached by a tiny little road. From there you may observe the beautiful cliff "Las Sirenas".
Just a footwalk away from the appartment there will be reached one of Spain's most important wetland areas for breeding and overwintering birds called "Salinas de Cabo de Gata" which runs parallel to the beach. The saltpans which are the only ones still in operation in eastern Andalucia are of outstanding ecological interest, particularly for its birdlife.
In Las Salinas you will find supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Only at a 2 km distance you will reach the village San Miguel de Cabo de Gata which offers a medical center, a farmacy, a libery, a hairdresser, small supermarkets and a banc. Each saturday there is a market.
